WHY:

Anyone who would like to continue to wear a mask in school is encouraged to do so.

Based on federal, state, and local guidance for masking in school settings, NOLA Public Schools (NOLA-PS) is lifting its universal masking recommendation for K-12 beginning Monday, March 21st.

Levels of community spread have remained low, as defined by the CDC.

This new guidance goes into effect more than two weeks post Mardi Gras and aligns with the expiration of the state's COVID-19 emergency orders.

The current COVID testing programs for students at schools will continue. Should families have questions, we encourage them to reach out to their individual school for more information.
