NOLA Public Schools Extends NCAP Deadline to Jan. 26

(New Orleans – January 17, 2024) — In response to the recent weather-related school closures impacting our community, NOLA Public Schools (NOLA-PS) is sensitive to the challenges our families may have experienced in accessing our Family Resource Centers and their schools' resources in completing the NOLA-PS Common Application Process (NCAP). As a result, the district is extending the NCAP application deadline by one week, now closing on Fri., Jan. 26 at 11:59 PM.

This extension will provide additional time and support for our families with applications in progress. In addition, we can provide further assistance to Lafayette Academy Charter School families who have closing school priority and may need more time reviewing school choices and selecting a school that best meets their child's needs. NOLA-PS' enrollment team members are reaching out to Lafayette families to provide any assistance they may need.

NOLA-PS remains committed to meeting its targeted match results deadline of April 30. However, we want to be transparent about the potential for delays that could result from changes in the NCAP timeline. Rest assured that every effort will be made to expedite the process and release match results on schedule. Our primary focus is on prioritizing the needs of our families and ensuring a fair and thorough consideration of all applicants.

Before submitting an application for the 2024-2025 school year, NOLA-PS encourages families to research school choices. To assist in this process, we provide several resources at Enrollnolaps.com:

Families who do not participate in the Main Round are welcome to participate in subsequent enrollment opportunities, although it is important to note that some schools may have full rosters from the Main Round.
