NOLA Public Schools Releases Main Round of NCAP Results for 2022-2023 School Year

(New Orleans – March 30, 2022) – Today, NOLA Public Schools (NOLA-PS) released NOLA-PS Common Application (NCAP) placement results for the 2022-2023 school year. Families can log-in and review those placement results by visiting: nola.ps/login.

The NCAP is the centralized school enrollment application process for Orleans Parish public schools. NCAP provides students and families with the opportunity to apply to schools citywide, and early childcare centers with publicly funded seats based on their child's unique needs and interests.

For the 2022-2023 school year, NOLA-PS received 9,609 applications for new placements in grades K-12:

  • 94% of sibling applicants were matched to their sibling's school.
  • 94% of Kindergarten and 9th grade applicants seeking a new placement received one, with 90% receiving one of their top three choices.
  • 99% of eligible applicants to Kindergarten and 9th grade were placed at a sibling's school

The results continue to demonstrate our commitment to equitable access for families to the schools of their choice. Most students participating in the NCAP process have been placed in one of their top three school choices; in nearly every case, our schools were able to admit siblings; and students entering Kindergarten or 9th grade were matched to schools they identified as a good fit.

"Through NOLA-PS' NCAP process, our families are able to apply to the schools that best meet the needs of their children," said NOLA-PS Superintendent Dr. Henderson Lewis, Jr. "Our enrollment team is committed to treating all applications fairly, and the NOLA-PS team will continue to work towards providing options and expanding access that ensures all our students receive a high quality education."

Families Still Seeking K-12 School Placement

Families who need a school for next year should not wait until the summer to find a school. The NCAP Main Round was the first opportunity for families to apply for K-12 seats.

K-12 families who still need a new school for next year should participate in the second round of NCAP, which opens Monday, April 11, 2022 and closes Friday, May 13, 2022. As always, the application process is online-only and available on the Enroll page at www.EnrollNOLAPS.com. Families are strongly encouraged to apply to schools with remaining availability in their child's grade. Projected availability will also be available at www.EnrollNOLAPS.com, prior to Round 2 opening.

Families may access their application results by logging into their NCAP Parent Portal account at nola.ps/login. If families need help accessing their NCAP results, they may contact the Enrollment Team via email at enroll@nolapublicschools.com, leave a message at (877) 343-4773, or text HELP to 504-547-6510.
